Skylight is a private app one family uses on their own wall tablet. This page says what it does with the data their Google account lets it reach.

What Skylight asks Google for

Google Play services on the tablet gives Skylight short-lived access tokens. Skylight never sees or keeps the family's Google password, and keeps no refresh token.

What is sent to Anthropic

Skylight uses Anthropic's Claude, through Anthropic's API, to read the labelled emails. For each one it sends the email's text, up to three of its PDF or photo attachments, the family members' names as set up in Skylight and today's date, and gets back the events it finds.

When someone asks Skylight's voice assistant about a list (“what's on the shopping list?”), the items on that list go to Claude too, so it can answer.

Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API isn't used to train Anthropic's models.

What is kept, and where

The events found in emails, a note of which emails were already read, and a copy of the family's lists are kept only on the tablet, in storage that is left out of Android's backups. When someone taps Add, the event goes onto the family's own Google Calendar, with a note of which email it came from. Disconnecting Gmail or Google Tasks in Skylight's settings deletes what was kept for it.

What Skylight doesn't do

Google API Services User Data Policy

Skylight's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Taking access away

Tap Disconnect in Skylight's Settings → Email or Settings → Lists, or remove Skylight under Third-party apps & services at myaccount.google.com/connections.

Changes

If Skylight starts using data differently, this page will change first, with a new date at the top.
